Live Updates: Global Auto Auctions Locations’ Response to the Coronavirus

Although our auto auctions are 100% online, at Global Auto Auctions we’re doing our part to make sure both our Members and employees stay safe. Measures we’re taking include eliminating nonessential foot traffic to locations in accordance with government requirements and state guidelines. Furthermore, all locations will be limiting the amount of people who will be allowed in the lobbies at any given time to help promote social distancing. 

We understand that these changes might raise questions, so we’ve prepared a convenient FAQ for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Global Auto Auctions still open?
Yes. All Global Auto Auctions locations are open, and vehicles are still available for pickup. Global Auto Auctions will continue to play a key role in keeping our highways and roadways clear, and in helping repair shops get the parts they need to keep vehicles operating.

Can I still preview a Global Auto Auctions vehicle?
Yes, Members can come to a Global Auto Auctions location to preview a vehicle. If you choose to visit, please bring your own safety vest or wear bright colors. As an alternative to previewing a vehicle in person, our online platform allows you to view HD pictures as well as obtain other necessary information online. You may also purchase a Global Auto Auctions Vehicle Condition Report for certain vehicles on the lot description page.

Can I still pay for a Global Auto Auctions vehicle?
Yes, you can still bid, win and pay for your vehicles 100% online. During this time, we ask that you pay online if you can—we offer two online payment options (debit and credit), as well as payment via the Global Auto Auctions Mobile App.

Can I still pick up my vehicle?
Yes, you can schedule a pickup through the Global Auto Auctions Transportation App to minimize wait times and in-person contact. If you need to pick up a vehicle yourself, you can also access the gate though the Global Auto Auctions Mobile App and get a QR code for the gate pass. Additionally, there are delivery options available on our lot details page.  

Can I still import/export a Global Auto Auctions vehicle? 
Since import/export law restrictions differ per country, please contact your shipping company and local authorities for updates on shipping. 

I'm having issues picking up my vehicle. Can you help?
Global Auto Auctions works with third-party tow providers to provide shipping on many vehicles. To see if transportation is available on the vehicle(s) you won, visit the Location & Deliverysection of the Payments Due page immediately following the sale, or on the lot details page before/during the auction.

What other tasks can I do online? 
In addition to bidding, paying and arranging transportation online or through a Global Auto Auctions app, we also offer other common services that don’t involve visiting a Global Auto Auctions location:

• Acquire a vehicle title—titles can be mailed after you provide Global Auto Auctions with a form.

• Use condition reports—with our third-party inspection services temporarily suspended, take advantage of our Global Auto Auctions Vehicle Condition Reports for more information on vehicles.

Does Global Auto Auctions have any resources to help small businesses during this time?

Tips to Avoid Exposure

In our previous Member News, we shared general tips to avoid exposure. Please continue to exercise these practices:

• Stand at least six feet away from other individuals (social distancing)
• Avoid handshakes
• Wash your hands thoroughly and regularly
• Stay home if you’re sick
• Use gloves when handling money
